Many people are unaware that the sole of your shoes can contain harmful bacteria that could be life threatening. This dangerous bacteria called Clostridium dificile.

A recent study conducted by scientists from the University of Houston, has revealed the presence of bacteria every second house threshold, and in addition 39 percent of the soles of the shoes contain the same bacteria.

This bacteria is difficult to cure because it eventually became resistant to antibiotics.

The worst thing that can cause inflammation of the colon, which may be life threatening. In fact, the percentage of deaths with Clostridium dificile ranges from 7 to 48 percent, according to the study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.


So next time you enter your home, remove your shoes and slip on a comfy pair of slippers instead. And remember, this can be particularly dangerous for kids who love playing on the floor!
